Emissions Gap Report 2023

Broken Record - Temperatures hit new highs, yet world fails to cut emissions (again)

Both global temperatures and emissions set alarming records. September was the warmest September on record with a global average temperature of 1.8 degrees above pre-industrial levels.  But despite visible and accelerating climate change, efforts to slow it down are woefully inadequate.  Unprecedented action is now needed from all countries.

The report is published by the United Nations Environment Programme UNEP. CONCITO is responsible for the preparation of the report in collaboration with UNEP's Copenhagen Climate Centre.
